Pivotry: The Art of Shifting—Stories of First-Generation Immigrants by Trish Yan
Filam Trish Yan is a successful Executive Leadership Coach and Real Estate Executive in the Washington, D.C., area who recently wrote Pivotry: The Art of Shifting.
Trish was born in Cebu City, Philippines, and immigrated to the U.S. in 1985. A proud single, she is getting married in June for the first time. Trish is currently based in Washington, D.C.
Pivotry: The Art of Shifting
A true “Go-Giver,” she details in her new book, “Pivotry: The Art of Shifting,” her life story.
In the book, Trish shares examples of the shifts she had to make in her life. She lost her mother four weeks before she gave birth to her son. She had no money or job and would be parenting alone without a father for her baby.
Her experience as a single mother and stories from other women who have shown bravery, boldness, and courage to get through life and make the best of it.
These stories are from first-generation immigrants, women who have come out of poverty and hopelessness and have created the best versions of their lives despite their circumstances.
Somehow, they all had situations that forced them to perfect the art of shifting or pivotry—to be bold, live purposefully, and live for your biggest dreams!
