AAUW Return to Learning Scholarships | $5,000 | GPA 3.0

For women completing their education:
The “Return to Learning” scholarship is offered to assist females in completing an undergraduate or master’s degree or certification in STEM programs. Students must reside in Lombard, Villa Park, Oakbrook Terrace, Wheaton, Addison, Glendale Heights, Glen Ellyn, or Kent county.

Anhelo Project Dream Scholarship | $2,000 | GPA 2.5

For undocumented immigrants:
Financial help for undergraduates and graduates undocumented immigrants who continuously face challenging roadblocks when pursuing post-secondary education. Students do not need to have DACA status.

Buster Lindsay Memorial Scholarship | Varies | GPA 2.5

For students at Jefferson High School, Rockford:
The Buster Lindsay Memorial Scholarship provides college resources to student-athletes from Jefferson High School with a minimum of 2.5 GPA.

Billy Smith Memorial Scholarship | Varies | GPA 3.0

Those pursuing sports college degree:
Billy Smith Memorial Scholarship is intended to provide educational resources for graduating high school baseball or softball players who intend to pursue a sports-related college degree.

Bilingual Scholarship | $1,500 to 3,500 | GPA 2.5

For bilingual immigrants:
Immigrants who can speak Italian, Persian, or Spanish can apply for a Bilingual Scholarship.

Carolyn Wones Recruitment Grant | Varies

For Women in education:
Carolyn Wones Recruitment Grant is for women to promote the professional and personal growth of women educators. Applicant must be a female graduating from high school within Boone or Winnebago County, IL.

CBC Spouses Education Scholarship | $3,000 | GPA 2.5
CBC Spouses Visual Arts Scholarship | $3,000 | GPA 2.50

For African-American or black students
Black students who demonstrate leadership through exemplary community service and academics or those pursuing visual arts. Open to current or upcoming college students or pursuing Master’s or Doctorate degrees.

CEFS Economic Opportunity Corporation | Varies | GPA Varies

For low-income poverty-level families:
CSBG Scholarship is for low-income (poverty level) and disadvantaged persons in high school or college students living in Christian, Clay, Effingham, Fayette, Montgomery, Moultrie, and Shelby counties.

Chicago Coalition for the Homeless Scholarship | $3,500 | GPA Varies

For homeless high school:
Chicago Coalition for the Homeless awards college scholarships to graduating seniors who experienced homelessness while in high school. Eligible to apply are students from Chicago and suburban schools.

Chicago Engineers Foundation Awards | $1,200 | GPA 2.3

For Engineering course:
Chicago Engineers’ Foundation encourages Chicago students to pursue careers in engineering by recognizing their talents and providing them with financial assistance for their engineering studies.

Community Foundation of Northern Illinois (CFNIL) | Varies | GPA Varies

For Northern Illinois students:
Community Foundation of Northern Illinois (CFNIL) offers more than 100 unique scholarships in one application. The funds are available to anyone living in Northern Illinois.

Chicago Police and Fire Scholarship – UChicago | Varies
Chicago Police and Firefighter Training Academy Scholarship | Varies

For children of firefighters:
The University of Chicago offers full-tuition scholarships to select children of active firefighters and police officers. Likewise, the Chicago Police and Firefighter Training Academy (CPFTA) awards a two-year scholarship for cadets of the four-year program (two years in high school and two in college). 

Corporate Relocation Council Scholarship | $1,000 | GPA 3.0

For “new residents” of Chicagoland:
For current high school seniors who relocated into the Chicagoland area at some point between grades 9-12 and evaluated based on academic performance.

CPA Endowment Fund of Illinois | Up to $4,000 | GPA 3.0

For those interested in accounting:
The Illinois CPA Society’s charitable partner provides scholarships and training programs to deserving accounting students across the state.

David C. Lizárraga Fellowship | Varies | GPA 2.5

Those pursuing a Master in BA or Engineering:
First-generation college student pursuing a master’s degree in business administration or engineering. Students pursuing other graduate degrees may also be considered.

Loomis/Rockton Lions Club Scholarship | Varies

For students in Hononegah High School, Rockton:
Dr. Loomins Rockton Lions Club Scholarship is for Hononegah High School planning to attend a two or four years course or vocational college.

Environmental Studies /Natural Science Scholarship Program | $1,000

Interested in Environmental Related Courses:
College scholarship and continuing College scholarship to students pursuing an environmental career. Applicant must reside in Lake, McHenry, Kane, Cook, DuPage, Kendall, or Will County and attend a high school in one of these counties.

Era L. and Frances L. Walker Scholarship

For African-Americans from Rockford High School:
CFNIL’s scholarship provides educational resources for African-American males to pursue higher education. Must be a graduating senior from a Rockford Public Schools high school.

Moraine Hills Scholarship in Environmental Studies | $1,000

For residents in Lake, McHenry, or Kane counties:
The Friends of Moraine Hills State Park awards for two high school graduates entering the field of environmental studies. Qualified applicants will reside in Lake, McHenry, or Kane counties, Illinois.

Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois | $23,000 | GPA 2.5

For education and teaching programs:
The Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois program is a teacher preparation and tuition assistance program for high school, freshman, and sophomore college students in need.

Greenhouse Scholars Program | $20,000 | GPA 3.5

Open to legal immigrants committed to community or environment:
Must be a permanent resident and live in Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, New York, or North Carolina with an annual household income no greater than $70,000.

GSLMTC Mary Joan Wolf Memorial Scholarship | $1,000 | GPA Varies

For education or training:
The applicants must reside within St. Louis, MO-IL metropolitan statistical areas (MSA), which includes the City of St Louis; the Missouri counties or Southern Illinois counties of Bond, Calhoun, Clinton, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Monroe, or St. Clair (the Metro East).

Hagan Scholarship Foundation | $6,000 – 48,000 | GPA 3.5

Merit-based scholarship with work requirement:
The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship for achievers and working students with less than $85,000 household income. Must work 240 hours each year, from January 1 until the commencement of the fall semester in college. 

Honors Society | Design-thinking scholarship

The Build A Better Future scholarship is a design-thinking community improvement project based on the LAUNCH Cycle. We will award $10,000 to five new seniors, with the top recipient receiving an additional $5,000 grant for their project.

Illinois AMVETS Scholarships | Up to $2,000 | GPA Varies

Service Foundation Veteran Scholarship

Priority is given to the dependent of a deceased or disabled veteran with a 2nd year or greater nursing student.

– Ladies Auxiliary Memorial Scholarship

A child or grandchild of a veteran who has taken and passed the ACT or SAT tests.

– Sad Sacks Nursing Scholarship

A one-year scholarship varies in its amount on a yearly basis. Applicants must be Illinois high school seniors and a child or grandchildren of a veteran of the United States of America.

Illinois CPA Society Accounting Scholarship | Up to $4,000 |GPA 3.0

For CPA college courses
Textbook Scholarship is for Illinois residents to be enrolled in an Illinois college or university; they plan to sit for the CPA exam in Illinois within three years of the application date.

Illinois Restaurant Association Scholarship | $2,000

For Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management:
Applicant must be a permanent resident of the State of Illinois (under the age of 30), be accepted, and plan to enroll in an accredited culinary school, college, or university.

InspirASIAN Scholarship Program | $2,000 | GPA 3.5

For Asian immigrants
InspirASIAN awards national scholarships to students residing in any state and with any ethnic or cultural background. Students can also be considered for state scholarships if offered by local InspirASIAN chapters.

ISL Midwest Senior Scholarship | $1,000

Residents of Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, or Wisconsin:
There are no financial needs or minimum grade point average. Students are randomly chosen.

Italian Catholic Federation First-Year Scholarship | $2,500 | GPA 3.2

IWEA Clean Water & Environmental Scholarship | $1,500 | GPA 2.5

For water and environment careers
For students preparing for a career in a water environment. Be a full-time student enrolled in a water-related field of study such as civil or environmental engineering, environmental science, or wastewater systems operation.

Jewish United Fund Merit Scholarship Program | $1,000

Open to students with Jewish ancestry
The Jewish United Fund for annual merit scholarships to high school, college, and graduate students up to age 23 who demonstrate significant leadership skills. Must reside or attend school in metropolitan Chicago.

Jill Doherty Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship award to an Edison Park student and Chicago resident who will be attending an accredited college, university, or trade school.

John Fischetti Scholarship | $2,000

Students with Italian ancestry
For students with full or half Italian ancestry interested in journalism or communications or someone already in journalism or media communications course. Only for residents of the Chicago metropolitan area.

JVS Chicago Scholarship Program | $4,000

For Jewish Americans
JVS Chicago offers scholarships to Jewish students in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties. Must be born and raised in the Chicago area and plan on remaining in the Chicago area after completing school.

Karen George Chicago Speech Therapy Scholarship | $2,500

Students of speech-language pathology
Those who have a passion for helping children and accepted or enrolled in a program for speech-language pathology. Attending a school or having a permanent address in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, or Wisconsin.

Kendall-Grundy Community Action Scholarship |

The Kendall-Grundy scholarship is open to those interested in education or occupational training.  Scholarship awards will be made directly to the college or university’s financial aid office. 

Kinnett Scholarships for College/Further Education

  • Application Deadline: 4/3/2023
  • Amount: $1,000

Samuel A. Green and Balkhi Foundation Scholarships are available for students who did well in academics and have demonstrated leadership or community involvement.

National Health Service Corps (NHSC)

Suppose you want to pursue primary care health professions training. You may request an application for a particular scholarship with NHSC.

Ridge Country Club Caddie Program

The U.S.ans Scholars Foundation has partnered with Ridge Country Club to provide scholarships to the best caddies. The scholarship is open to 13 -16 years of age that would undergo caddie training. Visit the Evans Scholars Foundation and the Western Golf Association for information.

US Senate Youth Program Hearst Scholarship

Two students per state are selected to attend an online program and receive a $10,000 undergraduate college scholarship. Students are encouraged to include history, political science, or related subjects in their undergraduate program.
