Jose Acuzar founded one of the country’s biggest construction companies in 1986. He secured housing contracts from the government that enabled him to fulfill his vision of preserving Filipino architecture.
He began his enormous project in 2003 in Bagac. Mr. Azucar salvaged and rebuilt Spanish colonial-era mansions from all over the country and brought them to one ideal location.
In 2003, Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar opened to the public in 2010 in eight years after, a slice of Las Casas in Quezon City became the new landmark for Pinoys to relive the 1800s.
Las Casas Filipinas De Azucar is beyond a tourist destination or events place. It is helping shape the Filipino identity. Like its counterpart in Zambales, Las Casas QC is a historical and cultural destination.
